This piece is about the Dark Jouster.

He might have been a regular human once. But over time the armor stopped being just protection — it swallowed him whole and became him. Now it’s not a man in armor anymore; it’s the armor itself that moves, fights, and exists on the side of darkness.
There’s no deep complicated lore here. The whole idea was just to create something visually strong and striking rather than build an elaborate story.
I wasn’t trying to design super-detailed armor or create rich worldbuilding. I wanted to get back to the core basics of illustration: how colors work together, how to build depth, brush control, atmosphere, and that overall painterly feel.
Honestly, it was mostly me training myself — trying to think and paint more like a traditional artist again. Focusing on composition, mood, sense of weight and movement. I really pushed the silhouette, the feeling of mass, some dynamic energy, and that play between the cold sky and warmer accents.
